HOW IT IS SCORED
English, Math, Reading and Science are each scored 1-36. The composite is the average of the four, rounded to the nearest whole number.
WHAT A GOOD SCORE LOOKS LIKE
About 19-20 is the national average. 24+ is competitive at most state universities; 30+ targets selective schools and merit scholarships.

12 MIN TEST75 questions in 45 minutes on the real test — grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and rhetorical skills. Speed matters more than on the SAT.
WHAT TO MEMORIZE
- Concise is correct: cut redundancy.
- Its = possessive; it's = it is.
- Do not separate a subject from its verb with a single comma.
- Keep verb tense consistent within a passage.
- 'NO CHANGE' is right roughly a quarter of the time.
